There was something about the erratic way Till eyed her that never failed to make her uneasy, something intelligent that made her feel exposed, as if she was being studied and analyzed for every action she took.
It used to scare her before she spent a little bit more time with Till and discovered that he had the exact same opinion on the way she looked at him.

Summary
Mizi leans closer, cupping Sua’s cheeks in her hands, marveling at the warmth she feels under her fingers. Once, she had thought she would never feel any warmth ever again, thought she had lost this forever. Unconsciously, Mizi’s pinkies trace Sua’s cheekbones, then drift downwards, resting against the still rough patch of scar tissue on the side of Sua’s neck.
Sua’s breath hitches under her fingers, and Mizi can see her eyes dampen, little tears caught in her eyelashes. “Three years.”
Three years. As if Mizi could ever forget.

“Sometimes I think that… only you understand how I feel.”
“Do I? I’m not so sure. I keep hurting you. I-”
“What I did hurt you too, didn’t it? None of it is your fault, Mizi. You don’t have to be afraid. That’s not what I want.” Sua pauses, like she isn’t sure how to word it. She seems frustrated. Communication has never been their strongest, even now. She blurts out, “I- I want you to touch me.”
“… You want me to? Right now?” Mizi asks softly, trying to mask all the uncertainties welling up inside her. She’s afraid of hurting Sua again. Afraid of making another mistake.
Or: after they are saved by the rebellion, a clingy desperate Sua longs for an equally clingy desperate Mizi. Neither of them know how to handle it.

Summary
Ivan buries his face in her hair. Plants his lips on her head, like how Mizi does on her cheek. It feels different coming from him, though. She doesn’t have enough time to protest before he’s pulling away to look at her, and Sua is nice enough to look back.
“Please, Sua,” he almost whispers, with such a look of captivating sadness in his eyes that reminds Sua why he’s the favorite. “Don’t.”
Suddenly, she sees her sister’s face in Ivan’s, clearest she’s seen in years. You don't want to go "pop!" and die, do you?
Sua and Ivan must be twins. This probably isn't a good thing.

Summary
The sunlight didn’t harshly blinded Sua as it did with Mizi, rather it draped over her like a blanket full of warmth and it made Mizi jealous because she’d want nothing more than to drape herself all over Sua. She could do it under the pretense of friends just wanting to hug but she knows her heart desired more than that.
