The Lord Stark looked down upon him clad in a heavy fur cape ladened with silver chains. His eyes resembled the blues of a crystalline lake– cold as the North. Even more so gazing at the flame that was Aerion. Burning hotter and hotter still as he stood firm against the eyes that seemed to swallow him whole.
They had met once.
Only once.
When their youth still showed on their cheeks, and the years had treated them kinder than any war ever could. When the summer sun threatened to melt the young northerner, and when pale locks seemingly glowed iridescent when waves of golden light shone through leaves.
When Aerion Targaryen, the Brightflame, was promised to Duncan Stark of Winterfell.

Summary
“I see you there, you know,” the alpha calls out to Aerion. “Are you the stable boy?”
Aerion’s eye twitches at the mere thought of him being a stable boy. This man, honestly, what a brute to assume such a thing.
He wants nothing more than to bite the alpha’s head off, but instead, he just settles for biting his lip to keep his anger at bay. He cannot draw attention to himself.
“No,” Aerion snaps at the brute, readjusting the hood of his cloak to make sure it stays on and conceals his hair. “Leave.”
He cannot let anyone see it, lest he wants to be returned to his father.
“Nothing to be ashamed of if you are,” the alpha tries to placate him. “It’s a decent job to have.”
Then, to Aerion’s horror and annoyance, the alpha tosses him a coin, one that proceeds to land by Aerion’s feet.
aerion runs away to escape an arranged marriage and ends up meeting a brute of an alpha at a stable, out of all places.

“How do you know that?” Remus can’t help but notice how incredulous he sounds as his brows furrow – because of course Sirius has these little hidden talents, even after six years of close friendship.
“My middle name is Orion,” Sirius explains with a frown, voice casual as he shrugs, “You know how I get with stuff I’m named after.”
Japanese wizards talk about the needle man, Norwegian wizards have Gabbro rock, and the British have plain old common sense.
And now, the real question becomes not, is Sirius my soulmate, but, am I Sirius’?
