She had been washing in the kitchen, and the sudden screech as her son rockets into her side is enough to make her jump with panic, immediately grabbing at him and looking for cuts and bumps before she understands his words and the stupidly bright, alight smile on his face with large, watery, hopeful eyes.
Shoto Todoroki doesn’t feel his soulmate connection open up. It is drowned in the aches of a small body worked far too hard.

He would sit at the same booth and read a novel, his face always crinkled in a scowl. Izuku never approached, he never said a word to him, but he always admired him from afar. After all, he didn't know that the man he was crushing on was the notorious villain, Ground Zero.
