A couple of days out from their journey from Zadash to the swamps of Labenda, the Mighty Nein take up camp near a dense thicket surrounding a group of naturally formed hot springs. Sure that sleep will escape him as was it's trend, Caleb volunteers to take first watch alone. When Mollymauk wanders off in the middle of the night while Caleb is on watch, a quiet search for him ensues: one that will bring the two closer in a way that neither expected, illuminated by the phosphorescence of the mysterious spring.
The mind is but a plaything of the body.

She heaves out a heavy sigh, shoulders rising and falling as she does so, brow pinched as she considers her words.
“Which is why… I know you don’t mean what you said about Essek.”
The name itself is like a punch to the gut, and Caleb clenches his jaw at it and breathes in deeply through his nose, as though it might ease the associated pain. He feels his whole body stiffen, feels the way his fingers tighten reflexively around his cup, feels his shoulders draw in.
He knows Beau can see it. He hates how transparent he is being.
Beau and Caleb talk about second chances. Takes place during Ep98.

Essek had to look up to meet his gaze, and the way it felt to see his blue eyes glinting at this angle from the lantern-light pulled at something low and deep inside of him. "I'll lead this time, and then next time I'll follow."
At the request of the Bright Queen, the Mighty Nein are invited to the Illumination Ball. Essek, of course, is the one tasked with preparing them for such a momentous occasion. Unfortunately, he doesn't really know what he is getting himself into. *COMPLETE*

Familiar, his mind tries again, but Caleb knows that isn’t right either. Jester’s touch is only familiar in the way that he’s never been able to forget the fleeting touches she’s given him, and he’s only allowed himself to imagine more in such specific situations.
