Flustered and cornered, Shane injects his Captain Voice into the conversation. “Ma’am, I understand that you’re upset, but I paid for this seat and am going to stay here. You’ll have to find someone else willing to change places or just fly with the seat you booked. I’m sorry I couldn’t help you.”
She hisses like a goddamn tea kettle, and starts to say, “You are the most selfish man I’ve ever—” when another voice behind her says, “You are blocking my seat. Move.”
Shane and the woman turn to assess the new arrival. It turns out that his seat partner is well above six feet tall, ripped as hell, and knows how to deliver an excellent bitch face. He’s also the hottest man that Shane has ever seen in real life, including a chance run-in with Jensen Ackles at a Stars game.
Or, still!famous Shane meets non!famous Ilya on a cursed flight from Ottawa to Boston and kind of (totally) falls in love with him at first sight (and first chirp)

“Only for…” Henry trails off, and Alex feels his weight shifting to the side—likely to get a glimpse of the clock-radio on Alex’s nightstand. “…twenty more minutes, love.”
“Mhm,” Alex nods, genuine frustration mingling with sexual frustration. “But you are now,” he reiterates, because… okay, realistically, what difference do twenty minutes actually make? And sure, he is able to recognize that he, himself, is twenty—and not… twenty-five, or thirty, or whatever, but still. Fuck, he wants to be a lawyer—his brain already is in a lot of ways, and because of that, well—twenty minutes make a whole hell of a lot of a difference, actually.

The anger he feels boiling in his stomach isn’t Henry’s fault. Really, it’s not. In fact, Alex is probably going to feel terribly later about the way he goes about this.
And it’s a damn shame, too, because Henry’s a culmination of every one of Alex’s types—dirty blonde and strong jawed with eyes he could drown in, broad shoulders and dainty collarbones covered in a shirt that might be a size or two deliberately too tight.
Alex can’t even blame him for it. It’s working wonders. Even his palm looks soft and inviting, tilted up and waiting to be met with his own. When he blinks, his lower lip juts out the tiniest bit.
Alex spins toward Nora, leaves Henry’s hand in the air beside him.
“Is this the only reason you invited me out tonight?”
