    He turned to face Silco more fully as he spoke, hands folded behind his back and head slightly bowed, avoiding direct eye contact.

    Interesting.

    “Oh, but I do.” Silco stepped closer, crowded Jayce against the stone battlement. “I’m afraid you’ve given the game away, boy. So eager to negotiate, and so soon after killing a fair few of our citizens. Sloppy.”

    Jayce’s eyes widened. Was that a touch more color in his cheeks?

    Or: Jayce and Silco make a different sort of deal. Everyone has to deal with the consequences.
