Joshua let out a watery laugh, a mirthless sound, his throat getting choked up from all the blood gushing out from the ruptured vessel leading to his heart.
"You don't mean that." Joshua's eyes burned, stinging with grains of longing and resentment. "You always do this, disarm me with your honeyed words, make me lower my defenses and then leave," his voice cracked, "you always leave me."
Jeonghan's fingers closed around Joshua's hand and planted it just left of his own sternum, right over the place where his heart pumped inside his thoracic cage. "You can feel it, can't you? The way it's beating for you. It always races a little faster when you're near me. My heart has your name engraved on it, it recognizes you."
