Summary
“Stan…” Kyle shakes his head in disappointment, not an answer.
And suddenly, Stan is five again, running to Kyle cause he scraped his knee and he’s biting his lips not to cry. Men don’t cry, his dad told him, and he didn’t want to be known as a crybaby like Kenny was. He didn’t want Kyle to think he was unreliable, or weak, but he also wanted Kyle to fuss over him and shower him with attention the way he’s seen Kyle give to other people, so he always ran to Kyle the moment he got hurt.
That never changed, even to today. But now, Kyle is fussing and showering his attention to someone else. Someone that is not Stan.
Or; It takes Kyle’s new boyfriend, a break, and his girlfriend screaming at him for Stan to figure out what he’s always known.
