Summary
When Kai found the strange, scarred, probably crazy man on their favorite roof, they weren't sure if they were about to die or see someone kill themself. Neither of those things happening was a good surprise. Having him keep showing up was an even better one; a good distraction from the looming danger that they could feel hunting them. Wade was a nice guy; weird, talked to himself a lot, and way too open about his sex life, but nice.
Kai really, really hoped they didn't end up getting him killed by Deadpool.

It usually ends up with a minimal amount of casualties, but this time he seems to have wanted to pick the stupidest battle of them all. Messing with the crew of Strawhat Luffy. They'll be lucky if they make it out of this alive.

Summary
It was a completely normal and average night the night Leah's life almost fell apart. She'd made normal--some would say misguided, others stupid-- decisions and nearly paid a normal, if extreme price. With the amount of times that New York was nearly destroyed by aliens or otherwise, getting grabbed by plain old human traffickers was almost insulting in its banality. Thankfully Leah had an ace up her sleeve in the form of a hundred year old superhero assassin.
It just sucked that she didn't actually know that.
Oh well, it'll all work out fine.

In the chaos of all the bullshit that the crew of the Wurst seem to attract, Barry Nyne was acting as last line of defense in some hot exit or another when Barry Syx got taken down. Fortunately, Skip was right there to help. Unfortunately, nobody else saw exactly what Skip's "help" had entailed. Now Nyne has to protect the new Barry Battalion from suffering the same horrible fate of the previous one.
Or: In an effort to protect Barry Nyne, the crew of the Wurst elected to keep the exact nature of Skip as a brain slug from him. This was not a problem until Big Barry Syx was knocked unconscious in the middle of a fight and Skip knew that the Skippers noodle arms would not be able to carry him to safety. So he did what he had to in order to keep them all safe. He just wished Nyne hadn't been watching.

Normally on nights like these, Nojiko would hang out the red blanket on the branches to dry. It was her sign to Genzo that Nami was home, so he wouldn’t come and check up on her like he was in the habit of doing in the evenings.
Nojiko should put it up now; but she hesitated. Yes, Nami was home, but this wasn’t her sneaking in in the dead of night. Everyone knew about it. And Nojiko had seen the look on Genzo’s face when Nami had arrived at the docks, accompanied by an unfamiliar Fish-Man instead of her usual escort. She wasn’t sure if even his determination to get Nami to abandon her mission would keep him away right now.
Nojiko couldn’t blame him. Her heart had stopped too, when she’d seen Nami, pale with pain and cradled in the arms of the enormous Fish-Man who had walked into their town.
