The spray paint hasn't even dried yet and Eddie's already scrubbing it off the house.
He insisted it was a bad idea, but Frankie insisted it was karma. Karma for what, Eddie doesn't really know.
As far as he knows, Harrington's never done anything directly to any of their group. He didn't really stop his sheep from doing stuff, but that in itself isn't a crime deserving of this punishment.
It's not even his house. If his parents came home and saw this, Eddie's pretty sure Steve would be punished in ways that aren't fair at all for some light bullying in high school.
He doesn't even know if Steve's home. The lights haven't been on since he got here and it's not that late. He can't possibly be sleeping.
The paint isn't coming off.
Headlights reflect off the window to his left and he freezes. The lights get brighter and closer.
He turns.
The headlights are on him. He waves.
They shut off.
Steve steps out of his car, but doesn't come closer. Eddie can't really see more than the shadow of him; The porch light is dim and nearly a full 25 feet away.

Summary
Everyone always leaves Steve in the end. Until they don't.
They leave him– they always do, one by one like fading stars in a distant galaxy; flickering weakly as they take their leave of him, still lingering within his sight before burning out and leaving behind empty shadows in their wake. Unnoticeable initially, but the blackening cosmos around Steve is now slowly bleeding through his periphery like spilled ink on a page, undeniable and threatening; gradually enveloping him in cold, hollow darkness and swallowing him whole until eventually there’ll be nothing left but a scared boy desperately running from the skeletons in his closet.
Reimagining of Stranger Things starting in S2. ABO AU with some Steve whump and initial non/dub-con Harringrove gradually turning to fluff. WIP, unbeta'd

Summary
The gate is closing.
Dustin lands on the floor of the real-world Munson trailer, managing not to injure anything else this time, but he hardly notices as he sees the rift that has also split the world on this side begin mending itself. The roof and side of the trailer reform, sealing together as the vines and the very crack itself disappears. Looking back up, all Dustin can do is watch as the opening grows smaller and smaller.
"Steve!" he calls, helpless. "No, no, no, no!"
"It's okay!" Steve shouts back to him, even though Dustin knows that it isn't. "We'll find another way out! Get to Nancy and Robin!"
And the vines retreat into the ceiling as the gate seals itself, slicing the last of the hanging sheet in half and leaving almost no trace that a giant portal to another world was ever there at all.
*Or, Steve goes back for Dustin after everything and gets trapped in the Upside Down, alone with Eddie. But that is only the beginning.
This story is from Robin, Dustin, Steve, and Eddie's POVs, as they all deal with what happens now.

Steve pushed himself up on one elbow and gave him a sharp glare.
Eddie cracked one eye open. "I said might, sweetheart."
Steve narrowed his eyes. "And I'm saying I'll summon that rift back and throw your undead ass through it alone."
