Summary

The longer she finds herself stuck in the past, the more embroiled she becomes in the world she once studied. As she loses hope of ever returning to her time, she seeks out her place in the past—a place with real friendships and love—and perhaps even a place in history itself.

Silverwing loops back and dives into the cold water, tight against the ship she rises. Steam rises up from her body and her gold eyes meet Daena’s brown. The jump down from the ship onto Silverwing’s body is rough, but she catches onto the ropes of her saddle and hauls herself up. Daena settles in the saddle and straps herself in with ease. As if she has done it half a million times. And beneath her Silverwing vibrates with power. The feeling of the wind in her hair is familiar and comforting.
