Summary

Clarke Griffin is having a rough night. It’s the last weekend before finals and she’s hurting in more ways than one. She bumps into a stranger who seems to have nothing better to do than sit by her side, and listen to her cry. Who knew cleaning your wounds could be so therapeutic.
“Are you hurt?” he asked. He was looking at her like she was a ticking bomb, ready to go off at any moment
“N – N – No,” she sniffled loudly, “I m – mean, yes, but n – no.” She sucked in another frantic breath of air. Her cleansing breaths seemed to be of little use and the last thing she needed right now was break down in front of a stranger.

Eddie hasn't been able to get himself off in months, and now he's high, sweaty, and horny, thinking about the very man sitting in his room in nothing but a wife beater and a pair of tiny athletic shorts, and he thinks he might die. Steve notices. Of course, Steve fucking notices, what, with all the squirming Eddie's doing.
Steve offers to help get Eddie off. As friends do. (As long as those friends are completely in love with each other.)

Summary
Eddie Munson has his finger on the self destruct button. He doesn't know how to stop, and doesn't care enough to try. After Steve finds him under Andy's fist with a laugh bouncing off his tongue, he does everything he can to bring him back from the ledge.
He isn't the only one that wants to show Eddie that his life is worth fighting for.

Eddie stared at the cream tile on the shower wall, “Must’ve followed me from my deal. Pulled me into the alley.”
Steve hummed. He moved the alcohol soaked cotton to Eddie’s lip. A breath pushed from behind his teeth. He closed his eyes against the sharp pain.
“Do I look like I’m buying that?”
Eddie looked at him. Steve moved his eyes from Eddie’s lip, his thumb brushing over it slightly as he continued cleaning. There was a knowing glint. He raised one eyebrow.
Just like that, Eddie realised how close they were standing. Steve had situated himself against the outside of Eddie’s legs, his belt buckle pressed against his thigh and one hand braced on the counter by Eddie’s hip. The proximity made him short of breath. He blamed it on the discomfort, not the brush of Steve’s skin against his bottom lip.

Summary
It’s 1991 and Steve is still in Hawkins, still living with his mother, still single, and still working at Family Video. At least he’s the manager now, for whatever that’s worth. But he’s stuck here while Robin and Dustin and everyone else have moved away. Moved on.
Well, everyone except for Eddie.
They're best friends, spend most of their time together, and it's nice to have a friend like that. But Steve is still looking for love with a capital "L". At least, he thinks he is.
