During the race to the edge series instead of Heather being undercover with Ryker's hunters its actually Hiccup and the rest of the riders don't know Hiccup is actually undercover with Ryker's hunters only Heather knows and when Hiccup first meets Viggo Hiccup doesn't realize that Viggo knows Hiccup was actually the Dragon Riders leader and Heather realizes that Hiccup has been caught and Heather has to break her promise to Hiccup and tell the other riders that Hiccup wasn't actually working for the hunter and that they need to rescue Hiccup before Viggo and Ryker do something to Hiccup and everytime Heather meets with Hiccup Heather realizes Hiccup is starting to act like Viggo cold, harsh and always ten steps ahead Start this fic with Hiccup telling Heather about his plan and Hiccup asking Heather to tell the riders he betrayed them and Heather telling Hiccup that if Hiccup ends up getting caught and captured by Viggo that she's telling the riders the truth and they are coming to save him whether he wants them to or not

During the Race to the Edge series during the war with Viggo and Ryker Stoick comes to the Edge and starts a heated argument with Hiccup about how Hiccup is handling the war and Hiccup and Stoick never had a good relationship and Stoick is treating Hiccup like he's worth nothing and the rest of the riders (Astrid, Snotlout, Fishlegs, Tuffnut and Ruffnut) are listening to this fight from outside the clubhouse and Snotlout Hiccup's older cousin realizes that Hiccup needs someone better to talk to and during the fight Viggo and Ryker attack the Edge and Stoick locks Hiccup in his hut so Hiccup learns "discipline" and Stoick doesn't let Hiccup fight and Viggo notices that Hiccup isn't fighting.

During the episode Gold Rush in Race to The Edge Heather, Dagur and Fishlegs don't realize that Hiccup is on Viggo's flagship not on the same ship as the rest of the riders and their dragons so Heather, Dagur and Fishlegs rescue the riders and dragons but not Hiccup so they need a plan to rescue Hiccup separately

The dragon riders are in a battle with Viggo Grimborn and his dragon hunters and during the battle Hiccup gets shot out of the sky and Hiccup tells snotlout to take toothless and tell the others what happened and Hiccup stays and fights the hunters. And the rest of the riders have to figure out how to rescue Hiccup before Viggo takes Hiccup to his base. But their too late.
