It was at the lake that they caught up to him.
He’d known for years now that they watched him from shadowy corners, waiting for a moment of some truth to be revealed, and figured that, despite that, if he didn’t give them the satisfaction, they would eventually give up. He’d thought, perhaps ignorant for the first time in centuries, that some lingering protection from lands long since weathered and changed might be offered to him. But Merlin had never prayed to a Goddess or a God. He had never sunk to his knees on lake-soaked grass for anyone other than a mortal man taken too soon.

“Are you just like him?” Vanessa says, voice high and a little delirious. “If you come, can you just keep going?”
“I can even do it without crying,” Logan grits.
Vanessa peeks over her shoulder, one playful eye mocking him. “I’ll be the judge of that.”
His self control is frayed, threads popping loose one by one until it’s a single strand keeping him together. Her body is velvet soft and soaking wet and Logan can’t do it, the thread snaps, his hips snap, and Vanessa moans in earnest now, caught off guard and pleasured.
It’s been so long since Logan has had this. It was so easy to ignore the need when he’d denied it for nearly a decade, but fucking Wade had cracked open the shell he’d built around this part of him that needed physical attention. Denying himself pleasure had been his repentance, but now he considers something new: if he was the worst, then maybe he should live up to it. Surely fucking his ex-teammate’s ex-girlfriend in a fit of glorious self sabotage was not something a good person would do. But he wasn’t good, he wasn't a hero, he was the worst. No world saving would change that.

When Clint comes in to SHIELD he's been on his own for almost four years, and he's been keeping himself level using conditioning techniques he's learned from a lifetime of abuse and neglect. Phil Coulson is the first to notice the imbalance – Clint's system seems to be all punishment, no rewards - but Phil's tastes aren't exactly average and it's none of his business anyway. Certain that what he wants is not at all congruent with what Clint deserves Phil keeps his distance, until a mission gone wrong sends the archer tumbling into an nasty case of subdrop and neither of them have any other choice but to take a chance on the other.

Bitty was getting hot from dancing and needed a quick break, so he slipped on some shoes and headed out to the back porch. He only intended to stay out there for a few minutes, maybe seconds even, since it was December after all, but as he was standing there, he heard a strange hacking noise coming from around the side of the house. It was probably someone throwing up, because this was an Epikegster, but Bitty felt like he should probably check to see if whoever it was was okay, especially if they were one of the team or something. He rounded the corner of the Haus hesitantly, and instead of a teammate or another college student, he found . . . Kent Parson? Who was having some sort of coughing fit, and the ground around him was littered in rose petals.
AKA Kent Parson has had Hanahaki Disease since the draft, and Bitty finds him coughing up flower petals after the Epikegster
