Oliver doesn’t take his eyes off the imaging screen but out of the corner of his eye he sees the technician turn her head to listen.
Josh either doesn’t see her or doesn’t care. Maybe he doesn’t see a point in keeping things a secret when Oliver’s mother already walked in on them kissing.
Making out. Like teenagers. In the elevator. He hadn’t been that embarrassed since his mother caught him and Tom on the couch when he was eighteen.
“Like a date?” Oliver asks and Josh nods.
“Exactly like a date."

Summary
He needs this after cases like that. Where hope all hope seems lost. He needs to start fresh and new. He needs time to decompress and remind himself that it all worked out. It’s going to be okay. It won’t be easy but things rarely ever are.
Maybe this job will work out, too. Maybe it’ll be okay. Maybe he can find a way to work with his mother instead of against her. For the greater good of his patients, of course.
He knows other doctors would’ve given up on Hannah. They would’ve thrown up their hands and said it was for the best when Gus and Ellis were sent to live with their father. A family torn apart as a result of a broken system.

Wolf raises his hand then drops it. A second later he raises it again and pulls the trigger, pressing the flashing blue button on the machine.
Nothing happens.
He waits a second, and then another, then presses the button again.
This time he presses it harder and longer and when he pulls away the machine whirs and clunks and the button flashes red.
“Oh,” Wolf says, his hands hovering over the machine like he’s trying to comfort it but doesn’t know how. “Okay. Um.”
“Please tell me you didn’t just break the one nice thing this hospital has.”
Or, 5 times Josh and Wolf have coffee and 1 time they don’t.

Oliver paused, entirely frozen. He wasn’t always the best at reading signals, and he’d made his share of embarrassing mistakes in the past. But he’d been flirting with Nichols, first unconsciously and then very, very deliberately, and he was almost certain Nichols had been flirting back.
Oliver took a moment to gather his courage, then spoke.
“Why don’t you drive me to your place instead?”
