Summary
In 1966, a dictatorship took control over the state of Nevada. 50 years later, its people fight for survival, or die at the hands of the agency's soldiers trying.
When one of those soldiers is brought into the rebel faction that Sanford belongs to, calling himself Deimos and claiming to want to join their ranks, Sanford does his best to not get attached, knowing that the new recruit could stab him in the back whenever he wanted if he did.

Summary
Deimos is used to seeing people interact with Sanford as if they went back years, although.. he can't say anyone has ever touched him before. He can't say anyone has clapped their hand on Sanford's shoulder, or brought up how there are 'other options' should they not possess any desirable objects, or made Sanford, tough rough and tumble Sanford, shrink in on himself and freeze.
Oh. So it was going to be like that.
Deimos teaches Sanford what it means to be protected in the face of danger. For day five of angst week 2025; "Trust no one."

Summary
The water isn't warm. It isn't necessarily cold either, a small win, but it definitely isn't warm. Coupled with the cold air in the room though, it might as well be. He gets dressed quickly, cargo pants and a t-shirt to save himself extra steps in the morning, Sanford polite enough not to look too much until he has his pants on. An odd little courtesy considering the situations they've found themselves in before. Sanford has given him mouth-to-mouth more than once and Deimos has had to help hold Sanford's guts in his abdomen on their way to evac. Exposed skin is the least that they've seen of each other.
That fact doesn't change his own hangups about sharing a bed.
