Summary
A story about the journey of the seven as they prepare themselves, physically and emotionally, to face Gaea. It could never be enough. The scars left are just too painful.
Hazel is slowly drifting away as her power grows; Piper tries to look after Leo and his destructive behavior while still trying to face her own struggles; Percy and Annabeth are completely broken after Tartarus.
Focus is primarily on Piper and Hazel's characters, but touches upon all the demigods eventually. This is my take on how the story could have gone, trying to be as faithful to real life as possible. Taking in consideration their godly parents, past traumas and disorders in general, this is supposed to show a darker side to the demigods’ world.
Very out of character as a big portion of the books are ignored: Annabeth, Nico and Percy are adults, the Mark of Athena here takes place 5 years after the Last Olympian, Hazel is still a pre-teen. Many other changes like these take place.
It is rated mature so that I have total freedom to write scary scenes, panic attacks, injuries and things like that. This all comes from my own experience and research, it also became a way to deal with personal issues.
Hope it’s a good read.
