He ignored the sensation for a time, screwing his eyes shut as he tossed and turned, as if trying to shake the warmth. He only opened his eyes when, suddenly, it felt like a hot piece of coal was pressed against the base of his spine. He jolted forwards at the sensation, turning over on his back to look behind him, as if someone actually had pressed a hot coal against him.
And, well, he wasn’t completely wrong.
