Kageyama honest-to-god smiled. Not just a competitive smirk or a feigned grin for a photo op-- but an open, genuine smile. Diego nearly dropped his water bottle.
And if the smile wasn’t shocking enough, Diego noticed something as Kageyama pulled off his practice shirt; a thin black cord looping around his neck, starkly contrasting against pale skin. Which was surprising enough (he didn’t peg Kageyama as the jewelry type), but what hung from the bottom of the necklace stopped Diego in his tracks.
There, dangling from the cord, light catching on its smooth surface, was a ring.
A fucking gold ring.

Summary
Atsumu considered himself as a successful person. He was the best setter in Japan (he didn't believe what the magazines wrote; Kageyama is worse than him) and was definitely a happier twin (Eat it, Samu!), although unlike him, he didn't have a long-term relationship.
But who needs relationships? Especially when you read (and sometimes write) fanfics about yourself and your teammate who you have been crushing since high school.
That might have been enough for him, at least that's what he told himself every time before sleeptime when he read, how he and Sakusa Kiyoomi are getting together in different ways, out of touch with reality.
Because at least in the stories they could be together and the dark-haired spiker reciprocated his feelings.

Summary
Knowing that he was only delaying the inevitable, he finally asked him:
"What?"
Atsumu folded his arms across his chest.
"Our argument today gave me a lot to think about." The aroma of the tea he received from his husband stopped Sakusa from asking, "So you can think?". He generously didn't interrupt him.
"I want a divorce party." The setter said in a confident voice, which to Sakusa's ears sounded more like the whims of a spoiled child.
Kiyoomi raised his eyebrows in surprise. Atsumu had come up with many stupid ideas, but he had never heard anything so absurd.
"What the fuck do you want?"
Or: During one of Atsumu and Kiyoomi's many arguments, a divorce proposal is made. And since they've never had a wedding party, they decide to throw a divorce party. After all, any reason to celebrate is a good one, even if it doesn't look like they'll actually break up.

The man only laughs, deep and rich. "Come now," He chuckles, "I don't think we've changed that much in ten years now, have we?"
He takes in the strong jaw, the hooded eyes, and recognizes the features—albeit older—that he sees every time he looks in the mirror. He sees the tufts of hair (dark brown, not gray) peeking out from beneath his black cap.
He looks into the other man's eyes and sees dark gray irises, not deep hazel, staring back into his own. And he knows, right then, that there is only one person this could be, no matter how impossible the answer seems.
