Summary
The stranger seems out of breath, a light flush to his cheeks, and he tilts his head at the three of them as he clearly tries to place them in his mind. When he finally comes up blank, he asks, “Can I, uh- Can I help you?” He self-consciously pulls at the waistband of the sweats he’s wearing, that are hanging dangerously low on his hips, and Killian desperately tries not to stare too long at the hard planes of his bare torso.
Josh, however, has never been one for subtlety or grace. And so he lets out a low whistle that only causes the flush on the unnamed man’s cheeks to darken.
Clearing his throat, and shooting Josh a glare that definitely goes ignored, Killian asks, “Is this still the home of Eddie Diaz?”

“You know I’m back on base tomorrow, right?”
“Exactly.” Buck catches his eyes in the mirror, pressing down harder over the bruise. “Now they’ll know you’re taken.”

“It’s just—hard, sometimes.” Buck’s voice shakes, laid bare with pain and longing so thick it makes her breath catch. Oh, Buck. “I really miss him, Hen.”

Summary
Eddie sat in front of the computer, waiting to call his husband and son. He was incredibly late, due to an emergency at the med tent, but he texted Buck that something came up. He hadn’t gotten a reply yet, but that wasn’t surprising. Buck wasn’t glued to his phone 24/7.
Eddie tried to connect the call via Skype but it failed. He frowned and tried again. Still no connection. He pulled out his phone and checked their text thread. The message he sent Buck was unread.
Eddie started to have an uneasy feeling in his gut. He went to his contacts to call his husband.
It rang and rang and rang. Then it went to voicemail.
“Hi, you’ve reached Evan Buckley. Sorry I can’t answer the phone; I’m out saving lives. If you’re my hubby, I love and miss you, baby. Go after the beep.”
“Hey, uh, it’s me. I tried to Skype you, but you’re probably still out saving lives. I-,” Eddie cleared his throat, “Call me, when you get this. I love you.”***
Or my take on 6x12, slightly AU-ish with Canon elements. What if Eddie were still an Army medic and got a call about his husband who was struck by lightning?
