And when she thought everything would be okay, Maddox happened, but she survived. She survived that too. Everything was okay now. She was in Auradon, she had her mother, her sister, Chloe, Luis, and somehow even Max. She wasn’t alone. Whatever happened to her, Red knew she would handle it. She knew she would survive. After all, her body and mind had already been broken hundreds of times. She was ready for anything.
That was what Red thought, until that moment. Until the moment she walked through that door. Until the moment her world start to disappear before her eyes once again.
And even after everything, nothing could have prepared her for that moment. The moment when Red’s heart broke in an entirely new way.

Summary
When they make it to the school, her mother stops her before she can even get out, grabbing her arm, Chloe turns to meet her moms worrried expressions.
"It's a new school year and I want this to be perfect for you, you know that, right?" Her mom says softly.
That.. isn't actually new, so she smiles back at her mom. "Yeah, mom. Of course."
"Good." Her mom nods, then, unexpectedly, she says. "I really don't like you around those VKs, especially that Hook one."
Chloe pauses. Back before this, she never hung around them. Especially not Hazel Hook, if that's who she's talking about. But, sure, she was nice to them, as any HK was, but that was normal for her.
When Chloe and Red finally fix their undoings and return back to their time, everything seems perfect! Her mom is alive and well, and Reds mom isn’t evil anymore!
But piece by piece, Chloe notices the way Hazel Hook scowls when she sees her and Red together, or the way the VKs look at her weird.
And it makes her think there is more to their relationship than Chloe knows.
