Note: I’ve played time lord to make the timing of this story meet my devious needs. It takes place in 1950, rather than later in that decade. The Laura Hobson character is based on the beloved character from Morse and Inspector Lewis—same sassy underrated sexiness—though I’ve taken the liberty of changing her career path. Amelia Davenport is still a widow (thank goddesses), and her situation is pre-St. John what’s-his-name, I’ve simply transported her back a few years and obviously left out that smarmy little man. It’s for the best, don’t you agree? ;-)
