Summary
After spending three days at the hospital and a week in the empty apartment, Maya's thoughts are plagued with the clouds. With Carina nowhere in sight to disperse them with her light, Maya breaks under their crushing weight. She has been through enough. She deserves to rest in the place she has been dreaming of since she was twelve years old.
Carina tries to get through her day at the station's clinic without answering the firefighters' questions about her personal life and keeping a low profile, desperate not to think about her failed marriage and Maya's haunting screams. All that flies out the window when she learns that none of Maya's teammates have checked on her for the past week, and she finds herself racing against time to save the love of her life.
