Summary
Dr. Park had offered Emma to meet at his house. They had taken the mature decision of talking about it. Not right after, but some days later.
It was a conversation that needed to happen sooner or later, Emma admitted. They had to decide where this was going to, moving forwards. The whole thing in his office had been… Exciting. But it couldn’t happen again. Not like that.
“You asked me not to pinch your nipple last time, but biting was allowed,” Brendon asked after taking a sip, and Emma felt how his eyes lingered on her breasts a bit too long. She squirmed in her seat. “Explain that.”
What an interesting first question, Emma thought, internally screaming.

Summary
Emma Nolan is a few months into her nursing career, still learning how to keep up, keep quiet, and survive under the pressure of a hospital that never slows down. Dr. Brendon Park doesn’t make room for learning curves. He’s precise, controlled, and unshakable. At least...he was.
Because Emma doesn’t respond the way she’s supposed to. She doesn’t fold under pressure. Doesn’t back down when he pushes and the more she surprises him, the more he starts to notice. Once Park notices something… he doesn’t let it go.
What starts as tension turns into something far more dangerous: blurred lines, quiet power struggles, and a connection neither of them are willing to name.
He tries to tells himself it’s a lapse. Something to control. Something to end. But the more he tries to contain it the more he realizes Emma isn’t something he can manage.
or:
“You don’t look in control right now.”
“I am in control.”
“Then prove it.”

Summary
He tosses back the last dregs of coffee, and looks at her again.
Her head is back on Dana's shoulder. Eyes closed, smiling. Fucking go, he tells himself. He's prowled long enough. He crushes the paper cup in his hand. And as if on cue, Emma's eyes open, meeting his.
It's a drawn-out note. Romantic vibrato, in the foggy lights. And for a brief moment she's smiling at him, but it's a leftover smile from her moment with Dana. The paper in his hand is warm, damp. Pushing between his fingers. And her smile shivers. Her eyes drop, lips pressing together like she's been caught. But he knows. It's him who's been caught in the headlights.

Summary
Emma Nolan is broke, stressed, and running out of time. With her ER job in Pittsburgh still weeks away and her bank account barely hanging on, signing up for a site where men pay for conversation feels like a humiliating last resort. She plans to quit almost as soon as she starts, that is, until Brendon Park appears on her screen. Older, sharp-eyed, and unnervingly composed, he is an orthopedic surgeon who wears control like a second skin, and talking to him is far too easy for something that is supposed to be transactional. What starts as one late-night call becomes the kind of connection Emma cannot afford to want. What neither of them knows yet is that in less than a month, she will be walking into his hospital for her first day of work.
