Summary
Will Solace has enough problems. Between juggling two jobs, surviving pre-med classes, and making sure his roommates don’t burn down their Harlem apartment, the last thing he needs is a hopeless crush on campus legend Nico di Angelo.
But try telling that to his heart.
Nico and his rich, mysterious, ridiculously good-looking best friends (affectionately dubbed “Nico and the Seven” by students who can only dream of being that cryptic) are the stuff of gossip and wild rumours. Mafia ties? Maybe. Vampire coven? Sure. Time travelers from an alternate dimension? Definitely plausible.
Will’s sure he’s never stood a chance… until a spilled drink, a cigarette on a balcony, and one very unexpected dinner invitation send him spiralling into Nico’s orbit. Now he’s stuck somewhere between flirting and a full-blown existential crisis.
Because falling for Nico di Angelo was not part of Will’s academic plan; and he’s about to learn that extra credit doesn’t cover emotional disasters.

Summary
It takes him a second to find the head hole in the dark — because the godsdamn sun is not up yet — but after a minute of fumbling he manages.
He realizes, the second he tugs it over his chest, that something is wrong.
“What the —”
Now, Will orders his shirts in bulk. He has to. He’s the only one wearing them, after all, and the sheer amount of times per day that he is covered in bodily fluids is a number he chooses, for sake of his sanity, not to count. He is well used to the process of ordering his shirts along with other linen and infirmary supplies. Every fortnight, without fail, he orders a set of orange Head Medic t-shirts one size too big, because it gives him a little breathing room without being too baggy.
When he pulls on this shirt, however, it practically clings to his skin. He can practically feel the fabric groaning as it stretches over his broad shoulders.
And, worst of all — the hem barely brushes the edge of his ribcage.

As he travels across realms, between camps, and even across worlds, he never quite feels like he belongs, nowhere feels like home. But maybe home is the one place he keeps coming back to.

He doesn’t remember the last time that he had the time to do something as simple as just look up. He’s been running for so long, he’s been trapped and let go and pushed and dragged across the world and back again, and he doesn’t know how it happened but somehow he has found himself standing still—maybe for the first time since he found out he was a demigod. Maybe for the first time since he and Bianca were brought out of the Lotus and back into the real world, when she’d cupped his face between her hands and promised, “Now we’ll have a real life, you and I.”
He wonders, as he often does, what she would think if she could see him now.

Starting after Nico's three-day-stay in the infirmary, the repercussions of being alone and fighting in two wars—across the span of only four years, might he add—begin to manifest. Featuring the formation of new friendships, reconciliation with old ones, self-reinvention, and the revolutionary concept that it's okay to just be a kid and need people sometimes.
