    Summary

“This will mark you as mine,” Ivan says, stepping over and fastening the gold band around Till’s wrist. He looks down at it for a moment, still holding onto Till’s hand.

Till stares at it as well, his heart pounding in his chest, still not a hundred percent sure he knows what’s going on. Ivan’s never mentioned anything about this before. Despite all his weird teasing and boundary pushing, he’s never brought up making Till his concubine of all things.

“You know I’m not like you,” he says softly after a moment, swallowing hard.

“I know,” Ivan says easily, nonchalantly. Like it doesn’t matter either way.

    ***

In an attempt to protect the servant musician Till from further mistreatment by his sadistic father, Ivan, the crown prince of Anakt, makes a deal with the king. He promises to take a wife and continue the family bloodline so long as Till can be his male concubine. As the day of the wedding looms over them, the childhood friends are forced to finally confront feelings they've suppressed and ignored for years.

    Summary

“You’re really suggesting this,” Martin says, voice pulled thin.
    “Yes.” No hesitation.
    “You would- actually do it?”
    “I would.”
    “With me.”
    Yes, Martin.”
“Why?” Because love is blind, says something cliché and cruel in the pit of his gut. Christ, he never was much of a poet, was he?

    Or,

When Jon asks Martin to Quit the Archives with him, Martin says yes. Things don't go as planned. In the Scottish Highlands, they hurt, and they heal.

    Bookmarker's Notes

AUGH THIS FIC IS SO GOOD. ITS SUCH AN AMAZING CHARACTER STUDY OF WILLIAM AFTON BUT ITS ALSO AN AMAZING FIX IT FIC AND GOD I LOVE IT SO FUCKING MUCH!!!!! HAVE READ THIS FIC 3 TIMES AND CRIED ON ALL THREE OCCASIONS, IF I KNEW ANYTHING ABOUT BOOKBINDING I WOULD BIND THIS FIC INTO A SPLENDID LITTLE LEATHER HARDCOVER WITH GOLD EMBOSSING AND I WOULD MAKE TWO COPIES, ONE TO LEAVE PRISTINE AND THE OTHER TO ANNOTATE SO THAT I COULD ADEQUATELY EXPRESS HOW MUCH LOVE I HAVE FOR EVERY SINGLE SOLITARY WORD OF THIS FIC. THE FORESHADOWING! THE CHEKOV'S EVERYTHING! THE WAY EVERYTHING IS SO DELICIOUSLY ILLUSTRATED. THE ONLY COMPLAINT I HAVE IS THAT AS I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN IN LOVE WITH MICHAEL AFTON I SHOULDVE BEEN THE ONE MAKING OUT WITH HIM AT THE END INSTEAD OF JEREMY, BUT I CAN OVERLOOK THAT. STELLAR FIC 100/10
