Summary
Rhaena was already accustomed to her reality.
Baela was the golden child with her dragon born in her cradle, the brave girl who always made Daemon smile until his cheeks hurt, the sister whose marriage would make her queen, the sister who had everything Rhaena wanted at her fingertips.
Rhaena was not sure she loved her, but what was she certain of at all?
Years of her life passed before her eyes; her mother's death and the loss of Vhagar to the enemy were wounds that remained unhealed for long years, and a part of her still felt the pain. Even then, Rhaena could never heal, with the looming darkness weighing on her shoulders when she was awake and her dreams haunting her when she was asleep. She could never mourn the mother she lost or the father she longed to forget, she could not rage and scream for the dragon she never found.
She wasn't given choices, she was given sentences.
She needed to keep going, needed to find a way to save her best friend from Vhagar's maws, needed to understand what was happening inside herself, needed to help Rhaenyra, needed to save Helaena and her children.
The judges of the massacre were already watching, and it seemed they were starved of devotion.

Summary
Tim KNOWS Bruce has planned some horrible test for Damian's upcoming 16th birthday and he refuses to stand by and watch Damian suffer like he did. What little evidence Tim can find, proves that most of the family, if not all of them are helping Bruce carry out psychological warfare on a teenager. Again. Now, all Tim has to do is prove it and put a stop to it. Without any help. It's a good thing he is used to working alone, but he is beginning to feel closer and closer to insanity. The feeling is uncomfortably familiar.
It just happens, sometimes, that a difficult case forces Tim to put sleeping and eating a bit lower on his list of priorities. That's fine, Tim is used to not getting what he needs.
