Summary
“Oh, I hate to miss a celebration,” Rhaenyra said sweetly, letting her eyes visibly sweep over Alicent’s form, “especially when there is something new to see.”
Some undiscernible emotion flickered across Alicent’s face, but her expression returned to one of mild amusement almost immediately.
“I am afraid I must ask,” she responded. “Did the evening live up to your expectations?”
“Oh, it exceeded them, Lady Hightower,” Rhaenyra replied, lips curling faintly. “For I expected nothing at all.”
Five years after her scandalous presentation as an alpha, Alicent returns to court determined to prove herself an asset to her house. Rhaenyra, with few friends and no shortage of foes, struggles to defend her claim to the throne.
On opposite sides of the realm’s political machinations, the two find themselves torn between duty, ambition, and something far more dangerous: each other.

Summary
Without even hearing the promise, Alicent wrapped her own pinky around Rhaenyra’s. The Princess’s smile was bashful, almost embarrassed, as she whispered, “But… even if I don’t present as an Alpha, and we can’t get married, we’ll still be best friends, right?”
Alicent’s skin tingled where it was touching Rhaenyra’s, “Yes,” She agreed, “Best friends forever, Rhaenyra.”
OR: Alicent and Rhaenyra are best friends, then they're not, then they are again, and the world can't keep them apart.

Summary
“Despite working in the industry I do, being married to my work isn’t a good enough life for these people. I need someone who can act a certain way, convince people of what I need to sell, and I do believe you’re the best candidate. If you’re interested, that is.”
Lexa closes her eyes for a moment - she got it all out and didn’t really embarrass herself or exposed herself too much, that was something to be proud of - before looking at Clarke again. She’s smirking, the playful glint in her eyes giving away her amusement. This probably isn’t the first time someone asked her to play pretend. Which shouldn’t surprise Lexa, yet, somehow, it does.
“So, you want, um... the girlfriend experience.”

Summary
In the waning days of Oldtown’s prosperity during the reign of King Viserys I Targaryen, a plague swept through the city, striking down noble and commoner alike. Among the most grievous losses were Ser Otto Hightower, his beloved daughter, and all but one of his sons, leaving the proud house bereft and reeling. In her delirium, Alyrie Florent proclaimed her youngest son, Abelon, to be chosen by the Seven. Whispers of the boy and his supposed divinity reached King’s Landing, the Crown paid little heed.
But the Seven were not so easily ignored, and neither was Abelon.

Summary
“When we met you were eighth in line to the throne.” She’d whispered, eventually. “Your royalty was so obscure and your name so ungoogled and as beautiful as it is your face so unknown that our life was almost normal—it almost seemed like it would be. Like it would be always, even.”
“I couldn’t predict the accident.” Rhaenyra had seethed. “Or the referendum.”
“I know, Rhaenyra.” Her eyes were long and deep and sad. “But neither could I.”
