Summary
Ben Solo has nothing left to lose when he runs from his life in Coruscant. Aimless wandering leads him to Niima Motel, a bare-bones motel in the buttcrack of Modern America: Jakku.
Rey Niima, the receptionist of the motel, refuses to let go of her past, afraid to even dream of a future beyond the remote town of Jakku, when he shows up at the motel, dishevelled and looking every bit a man on the run.
It's not a surprise to either of them when they fall into each other's orbits.
But nothing good ever lasts forever.

The way he says it so… reverently, makes her want to kick the thermal coat aside and see where that tension inside might take her – his lap, she could guess – but she wraps her arms around her knees and forces herself to stay seated.
“I’m chasing the peace and quiet,” Rey says after a beat, eyeing him carefully for a reaction to her next words. “… But what are you chasing, Ben?”
