Bilbo was so lost in his thoughts that when Balin stopped in front of him, he didn’t notice and walked right into the dwarf’s back.
“Ah, Thorin, we were just looking for you.”
Bilbo looked up and froze when he saw, standing not two dozen paces before them, Thorin Oakenshield. Alive and in the flesh and staring back at them. Balin smiled at the two before stepping back and allowing them the private moment they both clearly needed.
“Bilbo,” Thorin whispered reverently.
Bilbo’s eyes grew glassy with tears in an instant, hearing his name uttered by him, and he stumbled back a few steps. “Thorin.” He breathed.or
Thorin, Fili, and Kili come back to life a year after their death day. Bilbo has to come to terms with his past grief and make sure that the men in front of him are who they say they are.
