Satine took a sharp breath in, contemplating for a moment before she spoke. “I…need your help. Discretion is paramount.”
The weight of the Duchess’s words draped around her. “Of course. What can I do?”
“One of our citizens was taken into custody early this morning on the lower levels of Coruscant. I would handle this myself but it will take me some time to travel from Sundari.”
Satine’s tone was solemn, her eyes serious. For her to come all the way from Mandalore…one thing Padmé knew for certain, she didn’t want to be the what or whom that was dragging Satine all the way to the Core.
When the Duchess of Mandalore reached out to Padmé for a favor, she was more than happy to assist. There were just a few stipulations—discretion was paramount and no one else could be involved. But nothing is ever as easy as it seems when the words “diplomatic scandal” and “murder” are uttered together. Unfortunately for Padmé, things are about to get a lot more complicated.
