Jamie gets his soulmark when he's four years old. All he remembers from that day is his mum kissing his cheeks and smiling at him and then buying him ice cream to celebrate. Jamie thinks it's the best day ever. He doesn't know what the mark on his wrist means, but he guesses it must be a good thing.
It doesn't take him too long to change his mind about that.

Summary
It's almost—almost—a relief. It's been exhausting, all the ducking and dodging and repressing. That's over, now that Jamie knows how soft the inside of Roy's bottom lip feels against his tongue. There's no repressing anymore, there's no denial. He's in fucking love, can't be helped. In a way, it feels nice to let go of his hangups and just accept it.
In another way, a much more immediate way, it feels like hot shit.

Roy can't fucking stand the fucking cards. They're plain white with plain black text, each displaying the name of a different emotion, and he's supposed to go through them and decide whether he's feeling each thing or not. It's fucking stupid, it makes him feel like a fucking toddler, and worst of all, it fucking works.
