“Oh fuck me, I’m fine,” Izzy grit out. He got a hand beneath him to push himself up, but his vision whitened out, and he could feel hands holding him upright when he swayed again. “Just- fuck-” he coughed again, coughed until he felt like he’d be bringing up a lung, and when he was done it was probably Ed and Stede keeping him upright more than himself.
“Well,” Stede sounded a little shaken up, but then again, what didn’t spook Stede? “You and I must have very different definitions of fine, Israel, because- God you look awful,” there was a pause, before, “Not in a- I’m not trying to insult you, I just-”
“He’s got it, mate,” Ed interjected before Izzy could ask for someone to throw Stede from the ship. “Why don’t we get you settled in our room, yeah?”

Summary
Although Aziraphale has loved Crowley since before the Beginning, the fundamental opposition of their natures has prevented him from acting. It hasn't stopped him from wanting, or dreaming, or simply wishing things could be different. That he could love Crowley without endangering him.
After 6000 years of glancing touches and lingering gazes, he finds himself estranged from Heaven. And then a series of unfortunate coincidences leaves them the task of making two humans fall in love. Mix mutual longing with a business-meeting-turned-party complete with a romantic atmosphere and dancing, and they don't stand a chance.
“You mean like…a sudden rainstorm forces them together beneath a canopy. They look into each other’s eyes and realize they were made for each other.”
“Cotillion balls! People would gather and do some formal dancing and then realize they had misunderstood each other and were actually deeply in love.”
“One fabulous kiss, and we’re good.”
Love doesn't always work like that, but then again, sometimes it does.
