Summary
Buck tells Maddie he’s moving to El Paso with Eddie. Maddie has a chat with Eddie about it.
“You can’t take Buck with you to Texas,” Maddie says, and she watches whatever amusement Eddie's held at her surprise visit fall off his face.
“He’s a grown adult, Maddie. I can’t force him to do anything. You of all people—”
“Don’t play cute with me, Eddie. You know you,” of all people, she wants to say but doesn’t, “could make him stay in LA.”
Eddie scoffs. “With you?”
“With his family.”

Summary
“Hey. If you ever want another kid, I’ll do it with you,” Eddie says, all soft smiles and sparkling eyes.
Buck blinks.
“What?”
“I don’t think I’d raise a kid with anyone else. So if you decide you want a baby, and you’d be doing it by yourself, don’t. Do it with me,” he shrugs.
Someone has spiked the punch. The only sane explanation for what’s happening here is that someone has spiked the punch.
Or, Jee learns what cousins are and demands Buck give her one. She is nothing if not persistent. Also, it's Christmas!

Summary
There is a box, in Eddie’s mind.
There is a box, and in it he places all the things he can’t have: pink nail polish, and rainbow hues, and storm grey eyes. He fills it until it is full to bursting and he clicks it shut.
He locks his box and he throws away the key.
Years later, there will be a boy, and his clever fingers will reach into his skull, untangle the knot of fear and hate and longing and repression that resides within his brain, and unlock the lid.
For now, the box will be forgotten.Or, Eddie is lost, and lost, and found again.

Summary
“Are you breathing now?” Eddie asks, solely focused on the man in his arms.
“Oh,” Buck’s small voice is enough to tell that, yeah, he is back to breathing normally, but still, it’s nice to hear it.
“Ye– yeah, I think so.”
Eddie nods, lets out a deep sigh, then relocates his grip so he can hold Buck’s sides, feel his ribcage when he squeezes the soft flash encasing the love of his life, so Buck finds himself encircled by Eddie’s arms completely, and decides he’ll just rest his chin on the other man’s shoulder, eyes closed and heart full.
[…]
“I love you,” Eddie tells him. In one breath, secure, steady. No room for fear or doubt.
Buck is definitely not breathing now, and as if it’s some sort of sick joke, the first thing he blurts out is exactly that. “Well, now I’m not breathing, again.”
Eddie nearly dies again and Buck forgets how to breathe until he’s reminded by Eddie himself.
