Summary
This was supposed to be a fun vacation. A week when he could leave his job as a CEO behind and be a full-time dad to his adorable Charlie. A week when he could just sit on a beach chair, relax, and enjoy the sun. A week when he, Charlie, and Alastor could play in the sand or splash around the seawater.
What Lucifer got was a Charlie who decided she didn't need her father anymore and ran off to play with her new playmate, a girl with a beautiful silver short hair (Okay, he will admit that those two girls are so adorable, holding hands and splashing water at each other); and an Alastor who was currently occupied, talking with that blue man from earlier (The ex theory is getting more and more plausible).
And Lucifer... Well, he was left alone with his thoughts and his piles of sand and tools, hands on autopilot as he worked in the building of the sand castle.
Oh, there's also the red cat perched around his neck as well.

Sometimes Lucifer felt like he was standing at the edge of a cliff — a cliff standing in an ocean of darkness, beckoning him to jump to its embrace. More often than not, Lucifer is tempted to ignore everything and gives in to the impulse to jump. But Charlie is still a child, she needs someone to guide her as she grows up to be a remarkable woman.
So Lucifer would keep himself away from the temptation, walking away from the edge of the cliff and to the safety of his sanity.
But the urge to fall is still there.
