Summary
What happened in the spaces between canon? What made Ada the woman she became, and how did two people who were always destined to walk separate ways eventually find their way to each other?
This is my attempt to fill in those missing pieces, uncover Ada's past, and tell the story of how Ada Wong became Leon Kennedy's wife.
(A revised and expanded retelling of my previous work Mission is Personal.)

Summary
"…Are you going to make me talk about it?"
"Not tonight, no," she concedes, finally looking away from the screen. Her eyes are weary as they meet his; he doubts she's slept in the last 24 hours, but he knows she'll deny it if he asks.
He leans in closer to her, until he can rest his head on her shoulder comfortably, while she wraps her arm around his waist. Her nails are digging into his skin of his stomach, and it hurts but he doesn't say anything, because he knows she's just scared, but too stubborn to say anything.
In the aftermath of a suicide attempt, Leon and Ada try to make the most of the remainder of his Sicilian holiday.

Summary
Perhaps archaeologists would find him, the scar upon his shoulder, and deem him another lost relic of time; perhaps they would hold a funeral to commemorate his achievements, empty as they were, and she would blend in the shadows, never capable of staying away for long – fully aware why he had walked into those waters and declared himself a ruin.
The palm leaves danced to the ocean’s wind, shadows to the sun’s warmth – carrying Leon’s name into her ear and placing it inside lovingly. Somewhere in a beach, there were seashells scattered across the sand in the shape of the moment she had granted her heart to him. From her skin, the drums of his heartbeat. From her mouth, the rum he drank. She had made herself a cup of tea with the candle that had lit itself by the will of his love.
----
Or, how Leon and Ada's relationship evolved through the years after China, until they finally decided to stop running.
