Summary
When Hermione’s career at the Ministry comes to an end, she opens a store on Diagon Alley that sells magical artifacts. She stays in touch with her former-colleague Narcissa who is a curse breaker and often helps her out with new finds. They’re cordial with each other, but there’s nothing more to it. That is until the day Narcissa finds mysterious bracelets in the attic of Malfoy Manor that she’s cleaning out to be sold. She goes to Hermione for help, but the latter accidentally attaches both of them to the wrists. What follows are weeks of both witches living together trying to find out how to get unattached. If only they knew the secret to putting some more distance between them, was to close it altogether.

“Mad?” Ava asked. “Why would I be mad?”
“I’m…not entirely sure.” Beatrice had run through this conversation a thousand times in her head. Sometimes, the scenario ended with Ava telling her they couldn’t be friends anymore. Sometimes, it ended in a way that would make Beatrice blush to think about. Either way, she never pictured it being this casual.
“It’s cool.”

Ava rolls over, shutting her brain off, and very carefully presses the palm of her hand on Beatrice’s waist.
Beatrice tenses immediately, a sharp intake of breath filling the otherwise quiet bedroom.
A few seconds pass with nothing and Ava starts to pull away, an apology on her lips, when Beatrice grabs her wrist. It’s so fast that Ava hardly registers what happened, but suddenly, she’s being pulled to the other side of the bed.
Ava lets it happen, helps, and now she’s hovering over Beatrice. She’s so close she can see the shine in her eyes, how wide they are and she can see them flicker to her lips and back up.
Bea’s made this move, it’s her turn now. Ava leans forward, giving Beatrice a chance to turn her away.
When she doesn’t, it’s game over. Their lips meet and every functioning part of Ava’s brain that might tell her there will be consequences to this completely disappear.
The world could set fire tonight and Ava would keep kissing her as the apartment collapsed around them.
