    He’d been with her when the storm hit. He was with her when all their cabins and built-up progress on Dreamier Island got knocked down by the storm. He knew she was out there because he knew she was strong.

    “You weren’t there.” The small, nagging voice in the back of his head nagged. Firey groaned, palming his neck as he tried to shut those thoughts out.

    He was there. He was there. He was always there for Leafy because she was his friend.

    “Thanks for recovering me…”.

    Firey shoved a handful of leaves into his face to shut his mental clockwork out. NO, BFDIA was a different time. That was a time when he was stupid, when he didn’t know any better.

    He cared. He did, he really did.

    “...stranger.”.

    It was no use. He couldn’t help but remember. He couldn’t help but reminisce.

    Or in other words, Firey slowly realises he isn't a good friend. He is the farthest thing from a "good friend" and the realisation burns away at him.
