Summary
Inspector Barnes leaves the room with a shuffle and heads back to the front door. He opens the large door to find none other than Anthony Lockwood standing on his porch, soaked to the bone.
“Inspector Barnes, I am so very sorry to bother you at home. I know it’s your day off but I didn’t know where else to go. I need your help. I can’t find Lucy. I’ve looked everywhere for her all over the city. Please.” Lockwood pleads.
“How ironic.” Barnes says, placing his hands in his pockets.
“What is?” Lockwood asks.
“Miss Carlyle is actually here with me.” Barnes says with a smirk.
Barnes turns from Lockwood, to face Lucy head on, “Are you open and ready to speak with him?”Lucy nods.
Barnes steps aside as Lockwood looks into the hallway. There Lucy stands, wrapped in a small blanket. Her eyes, still puffy, but alive.
“Luce… I’m so sorry Luce…”

Lockwood loved to sleep with Lucy, he really did.
After finally becoming a couple, Lucy began sleeping with him in his room on a regular basis. The first months weren’t easy, because how could they be when one of them, or both on especially awful nights, would wake up screaming and drenched in cold sweat and tears. But as months went by and their new reality settled in their bones like a warm cloth, the nights got better.
That is, until their first winter came and the stolen blanket arrived with it.
