In a dystopian District 12, Kara Danvers (formerly Kara Zor-El) survives by hunting and trading food, living with her adoptive family after her parents were killed during a Reaping protest years earlier. The brutal annual Hunger Games looms again, but this year, for the special Quarter Quell, the Capitol announces a horrifying twist: in addition to the usual teenage tributes, adults aged 19–30 will also be forced into the draw.

“My friend,” she muttered, “can you go …”
