Summary
"Weapons break under too much strain."
Lillium wants to do something for Iris, who has been working hard under Dan's tutelage. He may or may not be motivated by guilt, or affection, or... Either way, the kid deserves a break and hasn't seen anything in this world.
In other words, Lillium plans a vacation to the Redwood Forests for the two of them, and it doesn't go exactly as planned.

Summary
Lillium isn't making a habit of visiting a particular coffee shop. Or, if he is, it's not because he finds a particular barista there cute (also interesting, charming, and oddly soothing to be around.) Absolutely not. Iris just makes good coffee, that's all.
Lillium may be just a tiny bit in denial.
Iris is having a hard time believing his interest is ever going to be returned, given the way Lillium pretends not to notice.

Summary
Chuuya is a former child soldier who lost everything and more to the war.
Dazai is a mysterious, gloomy child from a rich family who has never been on a battlefield, yet he visits graveyards in the middle of a snow storm to mourn strangers he's never known.

Dazai helps Chuuya find and reunite with his older brother. Chuuya allows Dazai to accompany him on his journey to make Christmas time at least a little better for the unseen victims of war.

Summary
Dazai, for a 15 year old kid, is wrong about remarkably few things. He reads into expressions, between words, hears heartbeats and footsteps in their own language. A flood of information enters his brain at any given moment.
It’s exhausting. (Much of life is, really. But he doesn’t have time to get into all of that.)
Then.
An empty warehouse. A sharp boy with striking blue eyes and flaming red hair.
Being wrong smells like dust and tastes like blood. But it’s strikingly, unexpectedly silent.
“I am Arahabaki.” The boy's voice echoes through the dust.
And Dazai's world begins to shift.
