Summary
this is a silly little project i am making [posting a chapter biweekly or more] and it focuses mainly on lilium white, the bestest character ever [mwah]. the year is in the 1970s, when an unspecified war takes place, and lilium chooses to become a soldier. Iris happens to also be around, taking the role of a painter and inventor, at the time of new ideas. They bring out aspects of eachother that neither of them seem to understand, and confuse eachother rather than become immediate friends like Heather wants them to be. After all, people who live in the same house should probably tolerate eachother, at least for the time being?

Summary
"Weapons break under too much strain."
Lillium wants to do something for Iris, who has been working hard under Dan's tutelage. He may or may not be motivated by guilt, or affection, or... Either way, the kid deserves a break and hasn't seen anything in this world.
In other words, Lillium plans a vacation to the Redwood Forests for the two of them (only a few hours drive!), and it doesn't go exactly as planned.

Summary
Iris and Lillium lose track of Lou after entering the alternate world of the Escape Plan book, leaving them stuck in this universe and lodging in the townhouse of their alternate selves. Following the interaction Lillium has with this world's Iris ("It's just… You haven't tried to kiss me all day." "Sometimes, I like to be kissed first.") Not-Iris mischievously convinces Iris to cover his scars to see if his Lillium can truly tell the two apart.
"Do you think your Lillium can tell us apart?"
Iris pondered this. "Well, yeah. I have scars, and you don't" he responds, matter-of-factly.
"I mean, say we were to cover up your scars and we looked identical. Think he could tell?"
"Hmm… Did he notice anything off when you first met?"
"Not…at first." His face flushed slightly, recalling their interaction. He figured it wasn't his Lillium, but their near-kiss flustered him nonetheless. A mischievous idea came to his mind, and he put his pencil down and shifted the conversation to deflect from his embarrassment. "You should test him."

“Lillium?” The man in question looks up.
“Yeah? I thought you were having a bath?”
“Well, I was– but then the tap stopped working. Because of the limited water– and now you aren’t gonna be able to have a bath because I used up all of the water–” Iris stumbled through his words quickly;
“We can bathe together.” Lillium offered, but the second the suggestion left his mouth, he regretted it. His cheeks turned pink, matching his hair. Thankfully Iris was too caught off guard by his words themselves to notice.

After fighting the ambushing Spawncampers and being seen as a hero by residents in the valley, Iris takes on a role on the Council to defend the settlement, drifting apart from Lillium after he used his powers to stop Iris from taking a life. Alone in the trailer, Lillium spends his days in a slump, drinking and trying to find anything to feel connected to Iris again - his old drawings, movies they watched together, and CDs he would bring back for him from work assignments. Lately, he has had the song Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls on repeat, and one night Iris stops by the trailer to find a passed out Lillium with the song still playing…

“I still can't believe no one has painted you yet,” Iris says, his fingers brushing a strand of hair behind Lillium's ear. “So many centuries spent on Earth, and no one to immortalize you.”
“I never said they didn’t try.”
Iris pauses, a magnetic gleam in the darkness of his eyes. “You didn't let them.”
“No.”
“But you’re letting me.”
Lillium forces himself not to look away, not to run from the abyss before him. “Yes.”
For centuries of immortality, Lillium has not allowed himself to forge meaningful bonds with mortals. He lives in their world and mingles appropriately but keeps them all at arm’s length. He’s better off this way, truly—until one fateful night, when he crosses paths with a breathtaking, painfully mortal painter. This is where everything starts, and where everything ends.

Summary
Iris gingerly takes his arm with both hands and bends down. Glancing up at Lillium through his lashes, he reminds, "Tell me if you get lightheaded or want to stop." Lillium sees fangs glisten and before he knows it they've sunk into the meat of his forearm. He watches with mild curiosity as Iris drinks, then tips his head back to stare at the ceiling when the lightheadedness starts to creep in.
He's content to lay there until suddenly he feels something distinctly hot and wet sliding over the area of the bite, and he jolts. "Did you just lick me?!" he exclaims, lurching upright.
"Yes?" Iris looks confused, as if Lillium should totally expect to be casually licked. "I thought you'd done this before. Why are you surprised?"
"No one's ever licked me," Lillium tells him, incredulous.
"Really? They must have been drinking too fast." Iris frowns. "Vampire saliva helps slow blood clotting. You wouldn't need it if you drank really quickly, but if I did that it's more likely you would pass out," he explains. "Does it bother you?"
"I mean... it's fine, I guess. Just surprised me, that's all," Lillium replies, hesitantly leaning back against the armrest again.

Story kicks off from save-file 13, so read at your own risk.It's been a week since the latest spawncamper attack on the valley. A week since Iris pulled them into that weird book. A week since they learned what really happened twenty years ago, when Irid attacked the valley; what Madam made him do. A week since Lillium stopped Iris from killing the spawncamper leader. With his powers.
He’s not seen Iris since then. They had a fight. Quite a big one at that.
”Why did you stop me?! I’m doing what you wanted to, remember?”
”What happened to hating them so much you wanted them all dead? What happened to wishing I felt the same?!”
”So it’s okay to murder when you’re the one doing it? Is it just me that’s supposed to be controlled?!”
”You’re sorry? That’s all you have to say?!”
”I’ll stay at Irid’s lab for now. I can’t even look at you. Don’t come searching for me.” -

“What is wrong with you? I had her! I was finally going to give her a taste of her own medicine, and yet you let her go! Why do you insist on making my own decisions for me??” said Iris, while shaking Lillium from his shoulders.
Lillium quickly moved his arms out of his hold and firmly grabbed Iris’ shoulders. “‘Making your own decisions for you’? You were the one who looked at me with disgust every time I came back home with my hands bloody.” Lillium removed one of his hands to point his index finger at Iris and to firmly push it into his chest for emphasis. “You were the one who thought that killing people was wrong to do, regardless of the circumstances. So why are you going back on your word now?”

After the spawncamper intrusion, Iris and Lillium reach a disagreement on how to deal with their leader, Lotus. Will this disagreement create ripples in the Valley, or will they be able to resolve this peacefully?

Lillium didn't think he could ever forget the way his blood turned to ice when he heard Iris say that killing his own mother was the right thing to do. He'd been a fool not to see it coming, to not see the guilt Iris was slowly suffocating under for so long. It'd been weeks now since Iris last came home, and Lillium was starting to wonder how the hell he ever survived without him.

Behind the veil of his eyelashes and half-lowered eyelids, Lillium's eyes shone like two jewels, piercing the darkness with their deceiving glow. Iris ignored the twitch in his stomach at the sight of them, and held his gaze while his fingers traced the foreignly familiar contours of Lillium’s face.
“This is no forgiveness,” he whispered.
Lillium gave a slight nod, his warm breath caressing Iris’s lips as he subtly leaned forward. “I know. This is no apology either.”
Since the spawncampers incident weeks ago, Iris and Lillium haven't talked to each other. But some habits are hard to break, and when the night gets too dark in their secluded places, they only know one way to keep the shadows at bay.

"Come on, stay with me, please," his voice sounded muffled, even to him, but his heartbeat was deafening. Every moment spent with Iris' eyes closed was another drop in his chest, like stones being lowered onto his ribcage. Lillium couldn't breathe, his hands shaking where they grasped the black fabric of Iris' shirt.
Pale pink eyes tentatively met black ones, Iris' eyelids fluttering up in a daze.
This moment, and this moment alone, was all that mattered to Lillium. Nothing else.

After the spawncamper’s first attack on the valley, a small group of demiflora sets off to a friendly Indigo village to replenish the necessary supplies, weapons, and food. Irises’ training with Dan is going well, so he’s approved to come along, together with Lillium, Heather and some of the Indigos. On their way back to the valley, the group is attacked by spawncampers again. Lillium and Iris get separated from the others and have to make their way back on their own..
