Her eyes flick down, and she mumbles something under her breath.
“Eyes up here, please. Now what was that?” he asked, his hand tightening just the smallest bit. Nowhere tight enough to hurt, but enough pressure to draw her focus back to him.
She looks back up at him, but slowly. He’s going to get it out of her and she doesn’t know what is going to happen. “Kione, mein frau. Please,” he says.

Summary
Halsin has every reason to hate Drow. From his time in the Underdark to Minthara’s “hospitality” at the goblin camp, they’ve brought him nothing but pain.
