After a devastating winter, that took the lives of many Durin's Folk, The Dwarrow of The Blue Mountains forge a treaty with The Hobbits of The Shire ... food in exchange for increased protection. And if an arranged marriage between their King, Thrain, and one of the grandchildren of The Shire's Thain, is required to seal the deal, then the Dwarf-king will do what it takes.

Summary
After the Battle of Five Armies Thorin and Company have a new task: rebuilding their reclaimed home. Suddenly Bilbo finds himself up to his ears in responsibility and he surprises himself with how well he can navigate negotiations with elf dignitaries, farmers in Dale, and a dwarf king who has patience for neither.
But as Spring approaches a caravan from the Blue mountains brings something everyone had nearly forgotten: the dwarf woman Thorin promised his hand to many years ago.
Which is fine. It's all fine. It wasn't like Bilbo was falling in love with the king or anything.
That would be tragic.

Thorin choked on air for a moment and Frerin's green eyes widened. "M-marriage?" Frerin mumbled weakly.

King Thraín of Erebor is forced to make a political agreement with the Shire in order to ensure his people have access to a bountiful harvest following the devastation of the Fell Winter. Thorin and Frerin travel to the Shire to certify the agreement, against their own wishes. Bilbo and Thorin discover they each have troubles all their own.
They help each other cope.
This is the story of the unlikely match between Prince Bilbo Baggins of the Shire and Prince Thorin II of Erebor.
