Summary
The look in Ilya’s eyes was undeniable. They had spent years dancing around each other, denying and pushing and turning away, but Shane was tired of it. He was tired of hiding, tired of pretending he only wanted Ilya in the dark, in hotel rooms and rushed nights and stolen moments. Maybe it was the heat talking, or maybe it was his exhausted heart giving way under the pressure of Ilya’s warm eyes.
Shane invites Ilya to the cottage to share his first heat together, and repressed feelings bubble to the surface.

Shane practically jumped out of his skin; he was so startled, his eyes snapped up to meet Ilya’s. “What? No!”
He could feel the tempo of his heart speed up as he watched Ilya reach over to place his phone face down on the coffee table and sit up.
“Shane.”
The heat of a deep blush spread over Shane’s cheeks as he lifted his book back up, trying desperately to return his attention to the words on the page.
“Hey!” Shane squawked in protest as his book was ripped from his hands and tossed onto the table haphazardly.

“Hollander? You are still here?” Rozanov called, breaking the TV static silence filling Shane’s head. He blinked.
“Uh. Yeah, just leaving,” he answered, surprised by how steady his voice sounded. Good, that was good. He knew he couldn’t show Rozanov any weakness if he wanted to keep coming back.
But did he want to come back if it made him feel like this?
“Door is too heavy? Or I fuck you too good, you cannot move legs,” came Rozanov’s taunting response. Shane could practically see the tilted smirk on his face, cigarette smoke wafting around his freshly-showered curls.
“Fuck off, Rozanov,” Shane muttered.
