  1. Summary

All of the following works take place in the same future-universe in my mind, but (so far) they do not rely on each other to be understood! Nico and Will are married and both teach at Columbia; Nico is a Classical Studies professor and Will is a medical school professor. They're still demigods, though!

Series arranged in chronological order of the events.

And alnair-jpg has made art for this AU/series!

☀︎ Day 3 - Will with a friend (or more if your heart desires, must be platonic though)
☀︎ Day 4 - Will with a romantic partner (or if you don’t ship him with anyone, just make him interact with a random god)
    ☀︎ Day 5 - Will with Apollo and/or Naomi
☀︎ Day 6 - Will thinking about life before the war

    Summary

"What am I doing here, Will," he says, out loud. He lets an edge of frustration bleed into his voice, tugging his arms free. Will doesn't stop him. "I mean -- look." He gestures to the rows of cots, where dozens of people look hastily away. "I am a child of Death and destruction. I don't belong here. I don't --" He raises his hands, and then drops them, staring at Will helplessly. Will meets his gaze head-on, those blue eyes almost black in the low light. "Nobody wants an omen in a place like this."

Will doesn't reach for his hands again. He does stand, though, close; close enough to crowd, close enough that Nico can feel the heat throwing off of him, can hear the quiet uptick of every inhale.

"Tell me," Will says, quietly, "What kind of place is this?"

    Summary

"Hi, baby," she murmurs, kissing the crest of his forehead. "Did I wake you?"

Will shakes his head. Diana raises her eyebrows, and he must anticipate it, because he murmurs, "Haven't slept yet." He pauses. "Followed you."

"Hm." Diana runs a hand down his spine, pressing firmer when he shivers. She turns so her cheek smushes against the top of his big head. "You were definitely sleeping, bug."

    "No."

"Mhm. Heard you snoring and everything."

Will scowls. "I do not snore."

Diana smiles, and cannot help squeezing him. He squirms, huffy, but remains in the circle of her arms, tucked into the crook of her bent leg. He settles, after a moment, small hands balled up against her stomach. Trembling, a little.

    "Oh. Must be Michael, then."

    Will nods. "Mhm."

"And all the snoring I hear before Michael goes to bed…?"

Will pauses. "A trick of the wind."

    Summary

Tonight the air is sweet, and the leftover vestiges of daylight warm him nicely. Today he woke up slowly, and there was pineapple -- his favorite -- at breakfast, and Nico was up early enough to join them. Today he bit his lip and ditched his shift at the infirmary, because he dreamed it would be quiet, and spent his afternoon hiding in his secret spot in the Big House, dicking around on his guitar. Today was good.

He missed his mom, a little. A lot. He kept thinking, as he made up random bullshit in between chords, that his own voice sounded lonely, and writing songs was not as fun without the four pencils always stuck in her curls near poking him in the eye, or the constant tap of her shoes against the wall. She's touring, now. Busy. Happy. Not plagued by constant monsters who won't leave them alone.

Will sighs, and kicks a rock. Sometimes being a demigod sucks major ass.

    ...But other times.

    Summary

"You can join me, if you want."

Will startles, even though Austin had been careful to speak quietly, casually; flinches his arms and drops his leg to the floor, whipping up to stare so fast Austin can hear the crick of his neck.

    Austin rolls his shoulders.

    "You only ever watch."

    "I only -- can watch."

Will says it quick, swallowing heavy. In that way he does, when he wants to hide the words. When he wants to lie, but can't.

"No? Everyone is allowed to play."

"Physically, I mean. I -- can't play." He laughs, and it is self-deprecating and mean. "Can't carry a tune worth a damn, hun."

    Summary

"I am living sunlight," said the man, perfectly straight nose wrinkled in offense.

"Living Sunlight," Will had mused, itching a mosquito bite on his ankle. He straightened and rocked back on the worn heels of his favorite sneakers. Only one side still lit up, but that worked for him. "I've never heard of that one. Is it Vitamin D supplements?"

The salesman sputtered. "Will, I -- I'm your father?"

Will froze in quiet awe, perking up like a watered flower.

"My time has come," he whispered.

No sooner were the words out of his mouth that the salesman stomped one sandaled foot, squeezed his fists, and hollered, at the top of his lungs, "Do not compare me to any character in that no-good loser's movies!" He spit on the ground beside them. Or, well, not really. Metaphysically. "George Lucas is a disgrace to the name of linguistic arts! He has written the worst dialogue known to man! He made Natalie Portman look robotic!"
