Alastor is quite content with his quiet life at the edge of the forest. He has his craft, his maman, and no particular reason to believe the old stories about what lurks beyond the trees.
Lucifer has always found humans far more interesting than they ought to be. He collects their discarded trinkets, but often finds them faded and broken.
Perhaps it was inevitable that one of them would eventually cross the other’s path.
After all, old stories have always warned against wandering into the woods.
They never said anything about the woods coming to you.
