"Special?" she sniffed and wiped hot tears from her face, and then took his warm hand, "I don't feel very special."

Summary
Condemn the abnormality.
It was a statement interwoven within sorcerers and non-sorcerers, the damndest of sins. It was a human philosophy, a belief developed and recycled through centuries, leading to war, famine, death, and despair. It led religions, groups, countries, and the simplest of all— people.
Jujutsu society brought protection and danger, fueling the creatures in the darkness and exorcising them within the same sentence. These creatures, curses, are rooted in human emotion, a creation that can never be wiped out, coming from the soul and birthing something known.
An abnormality.
One winter afternoon changed something within the universe, one only Satoru Gojo could only see as if a silent premonition was shown right in front of him. In the form of a girl the same age as him, one whose curse energy was something he had never seen before.
It was only one sight of her, one conversation, one meal together he knew he'd see her again.

and in 2005, it's a blistering summer day - cicadas buzzing, a/c broken, not a care in her mind - when she meets the other person who will change her life forever. geto suguru, newfound prodigy, the most righteous man she's ever met.
the jujutsu world is where only the strongest survive. so suzuki kozue is determined to be just that: the strongest.
in which gojo satoru learns that emotions are not weaknesses but consolations; and geto suguru realizes that he's always been a little too late for everything. because the furthest distance is an inch away, and the furthest thing from truth is "just friends".
