Summary
He felt a little more alive then, looking at Kiara, her big brown eyes watching him with something that looked like relief and excitement and sheer fucking joy.
JJ wasn’t sure when Kiara had become his favourite person, but after spending weeks with her in the dark, hidden under the blankets of stars the night gave them, he was almost certain he was her favourite person too.
JJ and Kie can’t sleep at night. So they drive around the Outer Banks in the dark, stay up until the skies turn pink and look at each other in a way that they’re not used to.
This is what they did when the island wasn’t looking.
