“You’re much quieter than anticipated, Han Yoojin-gun. Is it because your brother sold you off to me?” Yoojin’s chest throbbed. Heels clicked against the floor, and he lowered his head further, feeling as if an immense pressure were weighing down on him. “It must hurt to be given to an alpha that you don’t know by the brother that you so lovingly raised.”
Yoojin stared blankly at the floor. Something clear fell, plopping onto the rug beneath his feet. A tear.
Something brushed against his nape, and after a brief moment, a large, gloved hand covered it. Yoojin couldn’t suppress the tremors in his own hands, fear causing his heart to speed up.
“Shall I offer comfort? A distraction?” The hand squeezed. To an S-rank, it was likely to only be a gentle touch. To an F-rank like Yoojin, it felt like Sung Hyunjae was trying to crush him. “Or would you prefer to lick your wounds in privacy? You have time. We don’t leave until the weekend arrives.”
